Database-query manipulation via caller-selected Jinja quoting
Published Dec 19, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
SQL injection in Apache Superset before 2.1.2 and 3.0.0 through 3.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to alter database queries. The where_in filter in superset/jinja_context.py accepts a caller-selected quote mark and escapes only that mark instead of applying database-dialect-aware literal quoting. Low-privilege access to SQL templating is required; crafted values can change generated query semantics, with no reported confidentiality or availability impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <2.1.2
