CVE-2023-49735Network attack vector

Content disclosure via unvalidated session locale key

Published Nov 30, 2023 · Updated Nov 20, 2024

Path traversal in Apache Tiles 2.0.0 and later allows remote attackers to access local or remote content through SSRF or XXE. DefaultLocaleResolver accepts an unvalidated session-scoped LOCALE_KEY and uses it while resolving XML definition resources, permitting attacker-selected paths and external entities. Exploitation requires a host application to place user-controlled data in that session attribute; confidentiality exposure is the documented consequence.
