Stored XSS via unsanitized plugin settings
Published Nov 20, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in PubyDoc – Data Tables and Charts 2.0.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through plugin settings. The settings handler stores administrator-supplied values without sufficient sanitization and renders them without output escaping; public records do not name the individual fields. Administrator privileges are required, and the flaw is reachable only on multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; the script runs when a user opens an injected page.
