CVE-2023-49693Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via exposed JDWP endpoint

Published Nov 29, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Missing authentication for JDWP in NETGEAR ProSAFE Network Management System before 1.7.0.34 allows remote attackers to execute code. The NMS300_Server Java service starts with -Xdebug and -Xrunjdwp configured as server=y on TCP port 11611, exposing the debugger without access control. Any network host that can reach the port needs no credentials and can attach to the JVM, run arbitrary code in the service context, or intercept login processing to recover administrator credentials.
