Remote code execution via oversized deviceList value
Published Dec 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AX12 firmware 22.03.01.46 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via the deviceList parameter. The setMacFilterCfg handler accepts an oversized deviceList value and writes it beyond a stack buffer because the destination length is not enforced. No authentication or user interaction is required, and exploitation can execute code in the router service context or crash the device.
