Service crash via oversized wanAddr value
Published Dec 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda W30E firmware 16.01.0.12(4843) allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted HTTP request. The /goform/module handler routes an oversized setIPv6Status wanAddr value to set_wan_status, which writes beyond its stack buffer without enforcing the input length. Network reachability to the HTTP management service is required; the published proof of concept demonstrates a service interruption, not code execution.
