Unauthenticated command execution via telnet handler
Published Dec 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Command injection in Tenda W30E V16.01.0.12(4843) allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via an HTTP POST to /goform/telnet. The telnet handler passes attacker-controlled HTTP input to a shell, allowing shell metacharacters to trigger command execution on the router. The endpoint is network reachable without authentication according to the published scoring, and successful exploitation can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
