Unauthenticated command execution via unquoted hostName
Published Dec 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Command injection in Tenda W30E 16.01.0.12(4843) allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted HTTP request. The setFixTools handler incorporates the JSON hostName value into a shell command without neutralizing metacharacters, so a command substitution expression is executed. Network access to the management interface is sufficient, and successful injection runs attacker-selected commands on the router.
