Category modification via forged administrative request
Published Dec 5, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
CSRF in JFinalCMS 5.0.0 allows remote attackers to modify categories through an authenticated administrator's browser. The /admin/category/update endpoint accepts a cross-origin POST containing category fields without a request-bound anti-CSRF token. An administrator must be signed in and induced to submit the attacker-controlled form; successful exploitation changes category configuration.
