Unauthorized tag creation via forged admin request
Published Dec 5, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in JFinalCMS 5.0.0 allows remote attackers to create tags through an administrator's active session. The /admin/tag/save handler accepts a cross-origin POST containing an attacker-chosen tag name without an anti-CSRF request token. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to open and submit attacker-controlled HTML, and the demonstrated consequence is creation of an attacker-chosen tag.
