Unauthorized tag-name modification via forged admin request
Published Dec 5, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
CSRF in JFinalCMS 5.0.0 allows remote attackers to modify a tag name through a forged POST request to /admin/tag/update. The endpoint accepts attacker-chosen id and name fields in a cross-origin form submission without sufficient verification that the authenticated user intended the change. Exploitation requires a user already authenticated to tag management to submit the crafted form, and the demonstrated consequence is alteration of a selected tag's name.
