Credential disclosure via Base64-encoded backup password
Published Mar 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024
Cleartext credential storage in Newland NQuire 1000 Manta firmware 1.00.011 allows remote attackers to disclose device passwords. The backup.htm endpoint returns the full device configuration as JSON, with the Miscellaneous Authentication Password value merely Base64-encoded and readily recoverable. An unauthenticated network request using the documented static Token cookie retrieves the backup and exposes stored credentials without altering the kiosk.
