Analysis-engine crash via unchecked timestamp dereference
Published Apr 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in Wazuh Manager 3.2.0 through 4.7.0 allows remote attackers to crash analysisd via a crafted syscollector message. The syscollector decoder retrieves a missing timestamp with cJSON_GetObjectItem and dereferences the resulting NULL pointer without validation. The sender must be able to submit agent-protocol syscollector traffic; the consequence is interruption of the analysis engine, not data access or modification.
