Authentication-cookie theft via reflected terminal data
Published Jan 12, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025
Reflected XSS in Hongdian H8951-4G-ESP firmware before 2310271149 allows remote attackers to steal authentication cookies. The /gui/terminal_tool.cgi handler returns the untrusted data parameter in a page without neutralizing executable JavaScript. Exploitation requires a user to load an attacker-crafted request in a browser, where the injected script executes in the router interface's origin and can disclose its authentication cookie.
