Root command execution via unsanitized destination parameter
Published Jan 12, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
OS command injection in Hongdian H8951-4G-ESP firmware before 2310271149 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The network-test backend trusts the destination field and relies on a client-side JavaScript blacklist, so direct POST requests deliver shell syntax unchecked. Any low-privileged authenticated account can bypass the interface filter and gain root-level control of the router.
