CVE-2023-49231Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrative API key disclosure via wildcard oracle

Published Mar 29, 2024 · Updated Oct 28, 2024

Authentication bypass in Stilog I.S.T. Visual Planning before 8 Build 240207 allows remote attackers to obtain an administrative API key. The undocumented REST API v2.0 /session route passes the apikey header into WSSession.makeSession, where SQL LIKE treats percent characters as wildcards and distinct 200 and 403 responses reveal the key character by character. Network access to the route requires no authentication; the recovered key permits company-data access and file transfers, and installations without external user management also permit administrative-user creation.
