CVE-2023-49134Network attack vector

Root command execution via unauthenticated test mode

Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Command execution in TP-Link EAP115 V4 5.0.4 Build 20220216 and EAP225 V3 5.1.0 Build 20220926 allows remote attackers to execute as root. The enable_test_mode handler fetches test_mode_tp.sh by TFTP from 192.168.0.100, marks it executable, and launches it with root permissions. Exploitation requires crafted unauthenticated TDDP packets while UDP port 1040 is exposed for about 15 minutes after reboot and control of 192.168.0.100.
