CVE-2023-49133Network attack vector

Root command execution via test-mode script retrieval

Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Command execution in TP-Link EAP225 5.1.0 Build 20220926 and EAP115 5.0.4 Build 20220216 allows remote attackers to run root commands. The tddpd service accepts unauthenticated UDP special-command requests during the first 15 minutes after restart, and api_wlan_enableTestMode makes uclited fetch, mark executable, and run test_mode_tp.sh from the hard-coded TFTP host 192.168.0.100. The attacker must be positioned to control that address on the device network; successful exploitation runs the retrieved script with root permissions.
