Authenticated code execution via traversable include path
Published Dec 21, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
File inclusion in The Cacti Group Cacti 1.2.25 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through link.php. link.php strips only literal ../ sequences from an external_links contentfile value, then includes the resulting path, allowing nested traversal forms to reach a poisoned Cacti log. Exploitation requires a privileged Cacti account, a separate SQL injection to alter the external link and log data, and permission to open that link.
