Two-factor authentication bypass via inverted firewall condition
Published Nov 28, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Authentication bypass in Pimcore Admin UI Classic Bundle before 1.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to enter non-admin firewalls without 2FA. PimcoreUserTwoFactorCondition returns false whenever the firewall name is not pimcore_admin, so the framework skips the second-factor challenge. A valid account and a non-admin security firewall are required; successful exploitation grants that account access without its configured second factor.
