Authenticated code execution via unchecked IPv6 filter copy
Published Jul 8, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Realtek rtl819x Jungle SDK 3.4.11 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The boa formFilter handler copies the HTTP ip6addr parameter into the stack-resident ipEntry.ip6Addr member with strcpy and no length check. Access to the router's administrative web interface and a prior page request satisfying CSRF protection are required; exploitation can crash boa or take control of the device.
