Unauthenticated code execution via XML-RPC deserialization
Published Dec 5, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Unsafe deserialization in Apache OFBiz before 18.12.10 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through its XML-RPC endpoint. The /webtools/control/xmlrpc endpoint accepts an XML-RPC serializable value and passes its decoded object stream to the obsolete XML-RPC deserializer without restricting permitted classes. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation runs code with the privileges of the OFBiz JVM process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
