Internal-page access via ReaderMode key exfiltration
Published Nov 21, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Privilege escalation in Mozilla Firefox for iOS before 120 allows remote attackers to access internal pages and data through ReaderMode. ReaderMode preserves an attacker-controlled link referrerpolicy attribute, which overrides the template policy and sends the secret uuidkey in the Referer header. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted page in Reader Mode and tap its link; the leaked key permits access to privileged internal content.
