Arbitrary file read via unsanitized filename
Published Mar 3, 2025 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
Path traversal in Tikit eMarketing 6.8.3.0 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files through the OpenLogFile endpoint. The endpoint passes the filename parameter to local file access without sanitization, allowing crafted absolute paths to escape the intended log-file scope. No authentication is required; exposed files can include web.config and its database credentials, while write access or code execution is not demonstrated.
