Security UI spoofing via crafted HTML input
Published Sep 12, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Security UI spoofing in Google Chrome before 117.0.5938.62 allows remote attackers to misrepresent security indicators via crafted HTML. Google identifies the affected locus only as the Input component and has not published which operation mishandles page-controlled input. A user must open the attacker-controlled page; the documented consequence is deceptive browser security UI, with no published code-execution or data-access impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
