CVE-2023-4900Network attack vector

Permission-prompt spoofing via Custom Tabs UI obfuscation

Published Sep 12, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

UI obfuscation in Google Chrome for Android before 117.0.5938.62 allows remote attackers to disguise a permission prompt via crafted HTML. Custom Tabs renders attacker-controlled page content in a way that can obscure the browser's permission-prompt UI; Google has not disclosed the exact faulty code path. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted page in an Android Custom Tab and interact with the disguised prompt, creating a risk of unintended permission approval.
