Authenticated file disclosure via export filename traversal
Published Sep 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Relative path traversal in AnythingLLM before 0.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to read server files through a crafted export filename. The /system/data-exports/:filename handler concatenates the route parameter directly onto the exports directory before response.download reads the resulting path. Administrative access to the validated export endpoint is required, and the consequence is disclosure of files readable by the service account.
