Database-server crash via crafted division expression
Published Nov 29, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Denial of service in OpenLink Virtuoso Open Source 7.2.11 allows remote attackers to crash the database server with crafted SQL. The box_div function crashes while evaluating a division expression during vectorized SQL execution; public evidence does not disclose the invalid operation responsible. The published reproduction runs the statement through the DBA SQL account, while NVD rates privileges as unnecessary; the bounded result is interruption of the database service.
