Cookie theft via unsanitized stored fields
Published Dec 4, 2023 · Updated Sep 29, 2025
Stored XSS in Grocy 4.0.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to obtain a victim's cookies through crafted API object data. The recipes preparation and shopping_lists note endpoints store attacker-controlled markup that the shopping-list view later renders as script. Low-privileged access is required to create the object, and a victim must open the shopping-list menu before cookie data is exposed.
