Authenticated code execution via pre-validation file write
Published Mar 26, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Remote code execution in Elementor Website Builder 3.3.0 through 3.18.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via template import. The handle_elementor_upload function writes decoded base64 fileData to a temporary path before validating its extension and leaves rejected files in place. Contributor-level access reaches the Elementor AJAX importer, and successful placement of executable PHP grants control of the WordPress server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
