Subscriber-level data modification via unchecked AJAX functions
Published Dec 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in IdeaPush before 8.58 allows remote authenticated users to alter board-related data through AJAX requests. Several AJAX-hooked functions in ideapush.php accept requests without capability checks and save memory tabs, routines, or taxonomy items. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the demonstrated consequence is limited to unauthorized modification of those stored board settings and terms.
