Administrator account takeover via unescaped name attribute
Published Jan 10, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Stored XSS in WWBN AVideo dev master commit 15fed957fb allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript through a crafted name. navbarMenuAndLogo.php echoes the strip_tags-filtered name into an img alt attribute without attribute encoding, so a quote adds an event handler. Exploitation requires the non-default CustomizeUser keepViewerOnChannel setting and an administrator to open an attacker-selected channel link; script execution enables administrator account takeover.
