CVE-2023-48724Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated web-interface crash via oversized form value

Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in TP-Link EAP225 V3 5.1.0 Build 20220926 allows remote attackers to crash its web interface via HTTP POST. The _http_parser_formArg function copies an attacker-controlled form value into a 0x801-byte stack buffer using its calculated length rather than the buffer limit. No authentication is required; a value of at least 0x815 bytes crashes httpd_portal, which remains unavailable until the access point restarts.
