Restricted record-title disclosure via missing view check
Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
Information disclosure in Silverstripe Framework before 4.13.39 and 5.0.0 through 5.1.10 allows remote authenticated users to read record titles. GridFieldAddExistingAutocompleter's doSearch method renders each result label without first calling canView(), allowing unauthorized records into autocomplete JSON. A CMS account must reach a GridField configured to add existing records, and only titles hidden by record-level view permissions are disclosed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
