Account impersonation via raw token logging
Published Nov 24, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Sensitive-data exposure in CodeIgniter Shield before 1.0.0-beta.8 allows attackers with log-table access to obtain raw tokens. The AccessTokens and HmacSha256 authenticators pass submitted credentials to recordLoginAttempt, while JWT passes them before the patch substitutes token names or SHA-256 hashes. Successful-attempt logging must be enabled, and reading the log table permits requests with the affected user's authority.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
