Stored script execution via unencoded contact fields
Published Sep 10, 2023 · Updated Jun 25, 2025
Stored XSS in SourceCodester Contact Manager App 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user’s browser. index.php writes database-backed contact fields directly into HTML without output encoding, so saved markup becomes executable page content. An authenticated user must save a crafted contact value and a victim must view the contact list, allowing script execution in the application’s origin.
