CVE-2023-48694

Code execution via unsafe USB host-class pointers

Published Dec 5, 2023 · Updated Oct 15, 2024

Type confusion and expired-pointer dereference in Eclipse ThreadX USBX before 6.3.0 allow physically proximate attackers to execute code. The host stack and linked-device, ASIX, Prolific, SWAR, audio, and CDC ECM host-class handlers dereference expired or type-confused pointers. Exploitation requires a crafted USB device to reach an affected handler and grants code execution in the embedded device.
