CVE-2023-48648Network attack vector

Unauthorized filesystem access via permissive directory creation

Published Nov 17, 2023 · Updated Aug 29, 2024

Incorrect default permissions in Concrete CMS before 8.5.13 and 9.0.0 through 9.2.1 allow remote authenticated users to access files. Multiple core paths, including file-session, asset-cache, and page-cache creation, call mkdir with 0777 or omit the configured directory mode, leaving access dependent on the process umask. The attack requires a high-privileged network session and an action that creates an affected directory, after which overly broad filesystem permissions enable unauthorized access.
