CVE-2023-4861Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator code execution via unrestricted PHP upload

Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Arbitrary file upload in Ninja Team Filester before 1.8.1 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute code. The File Manager UI accepts and stores executable PHP files without enforcing upload restrictions that should constrain multisite administrators. An administrator account and a multisite environment that otherwise limits server control are required; a placed PHP file runs commands as the web server.
