CVE-2023-4855Network attack vector

Elevated-privilege command execution via IPMI injection

Published Apr 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Command injection in Lenovo SMM/SMM2 and FPC firmware allows remote authenticated users with elevated privileges to run commands via IPMI. Lenovo has not disclosed the affected IPMI command, input field, or firmware routine that fails to neutralize command syntax. Access to a high-privilege IPMI account is required, and successful exploitation executes unauthorized commands with the firmware's privileges.
