Remote code execution via missing bounds check
Published Dec 8, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
An out-of-bounds write in dhcp4_Main.c in Google Android kernel allows remote attackers to execute code over network. The dhcp4_SetPDNAddress function writes beyond a buffer because it omits a bounds check on DHCP address data. Exploitation requires no privileges or user interaction, and successful attacks can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
