CVE-2023-48411

Local information disclosure via out-of-bounds signal read

Published Dec 8, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in Android's Exynos RIL allows local users to disclose memory through compromised baseband firmware. SignalStrengthAdapter::FillGsmSignalStrength() in protocolmiscadapter.cpp reads signal-strength data without checking array bounds. Exploitation requires prior baseband firmware compromise, needs no user interaction, and exposes memory without reported integrity or availability impact.
