Unverified modem firmware boot via logic error

Privilege escalation in the Modem OTP component of Google Android allows local users with System privileges to boot unverified firmware. The component contains a logic error, but Google has not disclosed the affected code path or the operation that mishandles firmware verification. Exploitation requires local access with existing System execution privileges and no user interaction; it can compromise modem firmware integrity or permanently interrupt modem service.
