Remote information disclosure via SMS decoder out-of-bounds read

Information disclosure in Google Android kernel allows remote attackers to read memory via crafted SMS messages without privileges or user interaction. The sms_DecodeCodedTpMsg function in sms_PduCodec.c performs an out-of-bounds heap read while processing a coded text message, and a subsequent switch condition can expose the read result. Exploitation requires delivery of a malicious SMS and observation of the decoder’s behavior; the documented consequence is remote confidentiality loss without integrity or availability impact.
