Authentication bypass via hardcoded JWT signing key
Published Jul 30, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Authentication bypass in Apache SeaTunnel Web 1.0.0 allows remote attackers to impersonate any user with a forged JWT. The jwt.secretKey setting in seatunnel-server/seatunnel-app/src/main/resources/application.yml ships with a public fixed value used by HS256 token verification. No account is required; acceptance of a forged token grants the selected user's web-session privileges, including access available to that account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
