Authenticated code execution via unrestricted file upload
Published Dec 15, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in WebITR 2_1_0_19 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via a crafted upload. The upload function accepts dangerous file types without validation and writes attacker-supplied files to arbitrary server locations. A regular user account is required; successful placement of executable content permits command execution or interruption of the WebITR service.
