Unauthenticated PHP execution via mail-delivery path traversal
Published Dec 15, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Path traversal in Softnext Mail SQR Expert 230330 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute PHP code via a mail-delivery URL. A mail-delivery URL parameter accepts a crafted local path and causes the server to load a PHP file bearing an .asp extension from specific system paths; the precise parameter and handler are undisclosed. No authentication or user interaction is required, and execution can read or modify some system information without interrupting service.
