Service interruption via unchecked video decoding
Published Jan 18, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in UNISOC chipset video decoders on Android 11 and Android 12 allows attackers to interrupt service via crafted video data. The decoder writes beyond its intended buffer because it processes video data without a required bounds check. No additional execution privileges are needed, and the published consequence is limited to service interruption.
