Malicious content injection via Backoffice DOM-XSS
Published Dec 12, 2023 · Updated Aug 28, 2024
DOM-based stored XSS in Umbraco CMS 10.0.0 through 10.8.0 and 11.0.0-rc1 through 12.3.3 allows remote attackers to inject content. The public advisory identifies the browser DOM during Backoffice login as the execution context but does not disclose the affected script, DOM sink, or unsafe operation on stored input. Exploitation requires a user to complete a successful Backoffice login; the documented consequence is unauthorized modification of rendered content, not data disclosure or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
