CVE-2023-48310Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service interruption via unfiltered Nmap output option

Published Nov 20, 2023 · Updated Jun 11, 2025

Improper input validation in NC3-LU TestingPlatform before 2.1.1 allows remote attackers to overwrite root-owned files via an Nmap option. The host/IP field reaches the Nmap invocation in testing/helpers.py without rejecting command-line options, so -oN directs scan output to an attacker-chosen path. No authentication or user interaction is required; overwriting application source such as merged/apps/testing/views.py interrupts the service, while arbitrary CIDR input also enables scans of internal networks.
